CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking an experienced Airport Operations Manager to join a well-established aviation services provider at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in Queens, NY . This is a full-time, permanent, onsite position offering a dynamic work environment within a growing team. We're looking for a strong leader with a background in commercial aviation and hands-on experience in airport operations and safety compliance.
Job Title: Airport Operations Manager
Location: Queens, NY (LaGuardia Airport – onsite)
Pay Range: $72K–$75K BOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily airport operations, including scheduling, staff coordination, and on-site supervision
- Ensure full compliance with operational safety procedures and implement the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Liaise with internal teams and airport stakeholders to ensure seamless service and issue resolution
- Uphold adherence to all regulatory standards and internal policies
- Conduct operational audits, track training certifications, and support process improvement efforts
- Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications a plus
- 3-5+ years of progressive experience in commercial aviation, including prior team leadership
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to give clear, professional direction
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S., pass background screening, and be at least 18 years of age
- Physically able to perform operational tasks during shifts (standing, bending, lifting)
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to respond to operational needs after hours as required
- Familiarity with airport safety procedures and the regulatory environment
