The Site Steward is an Individual Placement AmeriCorps position under the auspices of the Utah Conservation Corps headquartered at Utah State University. The AmeriCorps receives a living stipend and educational award upon completion. The Steward is based at Professor Valley Field Camp, a rustic facility on private land located 20 miles from Moab, UT. The camp surrounded by open space, world class views and spectacular night skies. The Field Camp has two yurts, 15 tipis and storage barn and is used for environmental/outdoor education. The Site Steward is responsible for grounds and trails, basic facility upkeep, assisting with meals and leading a weekly service project. The Site Steward primarily works with middle and high school groups though will also support a few adult and family programs. The Site Steward lives on site in a small RV unit, some meals provided. Must have own vehicle, work related mileage reimbursed.
An applicant must be 21 years or older, a valid Driver License with good driving record for recent three years in order to meet CFI insurance requirements. Applicant should have minimum of Basic First Aid, CPR, Food Handlers (any state) certifications. Online course certificates are acceptable. AmeriCorps requires that applicant be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident alien; have a high school diploma or GED and be clear of any record on the National Sex Offender Public Registry.

CFI has over 38 years of experience leading outdoor expeditions for schools, families and adult workshop groups. Many of our program and facility improvements are subsidized through grants, donations, and memberships. We are currently partners in the Working Towards Racial Equity project with UC Berkeley and Justice Outside.
