As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Ophthalmic Technician Trainer to join our team.
As an Assistant Ophthalmic Technician Trainer, you will play a crucial role in training and developing ophthalmic technicians to ensure the highest standards of patient care and technical proficiency. You will work closely with the lead trainer and other members of the training team to implement comprehensive ophthalmic technician training programs, conduct training sessions, and provide ongoing support to technicians within our network of clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for ophthalmic technicians, including classroom instruction, hands-on training, and skill assessments.
- Conduct training sessions for new hires and existing technicians on ophthalmic procedures, equipment operation, patient care protocols, and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to technicians to support their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with clinic managers and supervisors to identify training needs and implement tailored training solutions.
- Travel to various clinic locations to deliver training sessions and provide on-site support as needed (up to 30% travel required to our different US locations).
- Stay current on industry trends, advancements in ophthalmic technology, and best practices in technician training.
- Assist in the development of training materials, manuals, and resources to support ongoing training initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an ophthalmic technician (COA, COT, or COMT) preferred.
- Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or trainer in a clinical setting required.
- Strong understanding of ophthalmic procedures, equipment, and patient care protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively train and mentor others.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.
- Experience with EHR systems
- Must possess the physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to complete essential tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for comprehension, problem-solving, and timely decision-making.
- Travel Requirement: Up to 30%
