Behavioral Health Therapist (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC)
Schedule: Full-Time | Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | No weekends
Overview:
Join a collaborative behavioral health team providing therapeutic services for patients in a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment setting. This role focuses on psychosocial assessments, individualized treatment planning, counseling, documentation, and discharge coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify treatment needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate group, individual, and family therapy sessions
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and family/support meetings
- Coordinate discharge planning using internal and external resources
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with legal and clinical standards
- Attend court hearings and report to state/community agencies when required
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient case discussions
- Float to alternate units or locations based on census/staffing needs
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active Illinois license (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC)
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or related mental health field
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a behavioral health setting (2+ years preferred)
- Certifications: CPR (AHA or Red Cross); CPI within 90 days of hire
Required Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
- Ability to maintain therapeutic boundaries and manage crisis situations
- Proficiency in medical record documentation and case coordination
- Knowledge of community resources, including residential and recovery programs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
