Job Description
The Benefits and Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the payroll and benefits daily functions. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and effective management of employee benefits programs. The manager acts as a liaison between employees and Benefits and Payroll Team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, processing, and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other ancillary offerings.
- Coordinate with external vendors for benefits administration and payroll processing. Coordination of file feeds and testing.
- Develop and implement payroll and benefits policies and procedures.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding compensation.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal and external use.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll and benefits records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
- Education requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of benefits and payroll administration experience.
- Must have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, Paycor, Paylocity, Paycom, or similar.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding employment and labor laws.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines.
- Willing to work after hours as needed to meet deadlines.
- Analytical with a keen eye for details.
- Adapts well to changes in responsibilities and workloads.
- Good problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Comfortable in a dynamic, start-up environment.
- Prior experience supervising a team
- Familiar with oilfield terminology and operations
