Job Duties

• Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and booking carriers on assigned shippers’ freight with target rates provided
• Develop and maintain carrier relationships to drive consistent bookings
• Proactively sell available freight to spot and dedicated (contracted) carrier partners through outbound calls, emails and other forms of communication
• Work with dispatch on scheduling upcoming pickups and provide proactive status updates via check calls and Macropoint. Follow order from cradle to grave insuring timely delivery and collecting PODs upon delivery
• Procure and onboard new carriers in accordance with company’s carrier compliance policy
• Manage on-time pickup and delivery statistics for assigned carriers to meet and exceed shipper service requirements
• Assist account owners with pricing new opportunities including spot quotes, mini projects and network RFPs
• Maintain carrier agreements and accessorial schedules on file when applicable
• Participate in carrier outreach campaigns to drive additional capacity into the network
• Manage any rate or accessorial discrepancies kicked out by billing department

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of logistics experience, ideally in a carrier facing role or function
• In office role based in Keasbey, NJ
• Strong comfortability with making cold calls and overcoming objections
• Desire to learn, be coached and contribute in a team environment
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of people
• Strong work ethic that showcases a winning attitude
• Effective multitasker that manages stress well
• Effective communication and follow up skills
• Dependable, likeable and team player
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products
• Experience in DAT, Parade, Macropoint and various shipper TMS systems a plus
