NEEDED: Medical Assistant Services
LOCATION: FCI/FPC located at Highway 72, West, Three Rivers, Texas 78071
SCHEDULE: 8 Hours per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays, not to exceed 40 hours per week.
HOURS: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
QUALIFICATION:
- U.S. Citizen
- Must be certified from an accredited school or program
- Have a minimum of two years of experience.
- Must provide supporting documentation by providing diplomas, certificates, licenses, etc.
- Must be certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation in accordance with the American Heart Association.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and law enforcement agency background check.
DUTIES:
- Shall provide the following services, which include, but are not limited to those listed
- below:
- Taking history and vital signs
- Performing electrocardiograms
- Giving injections/ immunizations/ tuberculin skin testing
- Providing patient education
- Assisting clinical staff during medical emergencies
- Restocking supplies in patient exam rooms
- Triage of patient medical complaints and referral to RN, PA or MD as appropriate
- Administer oral medications
- Dressing changes/wound care
- Other duties as permitted by regulations and certification
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
- Preform limited waived laboratory tests
- Collecting laboratory specimens
- All services provided under the supervision of an RN, PA, or MD, for the Health Services Department
- Shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with The Joint Commission (TJC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional
- Institutions.
- Must also adhere to OSHA and BOP policies.
