POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager plays a vital role in the execution of construction projects, managing the day-to-day operations and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, to deliver high-quality results. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Directing activities of workers involved in construction projects, such as highways, roads, pipelines, etc.
* Planning construction procedures based on specifications, staffing requirements, and available resources.
* Coordinating with Human Resources for hiring, interviewing candidates, and making personnel decisions.
* Procuring tools and materials, ensuring timely delivery as per work schedules.
* Directing supervisory personnel and subcontractors, interpreting specifications, and resolving construction problems.
* Inspecting work progress to ensure adherence to specifications and schedules.
* Preparing reports of progress, materials used, costs, and adjusting work schedules accordingly.
* Ensuring safety compliance and implementing environmental, health, and safety regulations/policies.
* Operating vehicles as required, meeting R.K. Hall Driver Qualification Standards.
* May require overtime and exposure to varying weather conditions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 5+ years of hot mix paving and/or base rehab projects, 5+ years of TXDOT project experience.
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work sites may be required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
* Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary.
* Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Consists of on-site at plants. On-site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery, and exposure to elements such as dust, changes in temperature and weather. Required safety equipment will be issued and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
* Stamina to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
* Agility to maneuver on uneven terrain and navigate construction sites safely.
