Boston Metal is revolutionizing the extractive metallurgy industry with a cutting-edge technology aimed at transforming metals production by reducing costs and minimizing the environmental footprint. As we are expanding rapidly, we are looking for a Custodian to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in supporting our organization’s efforts to mature business processes and commercialize our innovative technology.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Custodian to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in our facilities. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing various areas of the building, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are met, and providing general maintenance support. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for all employees, visitors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of industrial spaces
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum
• Dusting and Vacuuming fixtures and equipment
• Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste
• Clean windows and doors for the industrial space
• Monitor and report any maintenance issues, such as leaks, broken equipment, or safety hazards
• Ensure all cleaning products are used safely and stored correctly
• Assist with minor repairs and facility maintenance tasks
• Engage in 5s activities
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning and lifting tasks
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude

Working Conditions:

• May require working evenings or weekends depending on the facility's schedule
• The role may involve standing, bending, lifting, and walking for long periods of time
• Use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is necessary

Additional Information:

You will be working in a small team environment where teamwork and good relationships with other team members are critical. We operate pilot plants and labs and many of our staff members are required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well when necessary.
