University of Virginia: UVA Provost's Office: School of Medicine: Pediatrics: Pediatrics-Pediatric Genetics Location: Charlottesville, VA Description: The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Genetics invite applications for Division Director of Genetics. Academic geneticists at the rank of Associate or full Professor are encouraged to apply. This position will be tenure-eligible or ineligible. Our team consists of geneticists, genetic counselors, cytogeneticists and metabolic nutritionists. We are experts in evaluating and managing care for families with genetic or metabolic conditions. Currently, we have three geneticists and seven genetic counselors and assistants. We are also dedicated scientists, engaged in research to better understand genetic disorders to develop innovative ways to prevent or treat these conditions. We use the latest genetic testing techniques and provide support as your family faces difficult circumstances. Required Qualifications: Applicants must be board certified in Genetics and have an M.D. or D.O. degree, and must be eligible for medical licensure in Virginia. The ideal candidate for UVA Genetics Division Director is an established academic geneticist with strong leadership skills. An active research program is desirable but not required. The Division Director will be expected to contribute to clinical service and participate on-call in genetics.
