Job Description
The electrical lead is responsible for supervising the shop electricians to ensure jobs are being worked on in a timely manner and provide support to keep the jobs moving forward. This person will be the liaison between the engineering team and the floor electricians, reporting to the shop superintendent.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review assembly drawings, festoon drawings, runway conductor drawings, and other related electrical drawings
- Determine required wire size and lengths based on drawings provided
- Maintain consumables inventory (conduit, fittings, THHN wire, etc.) and requisition as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace for the electrical area and repair equipment as needed
- Provide technical support to the floor technicians as well as field technicians
- Provide feedback to the shop superintendent and the electrical engineering team to improve processes and techniques
- Have strong knowledge of motor control, VFD drives, radios, and other electrical crane components
- Have strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to read manuals to diagnose issues
- Understand of PLC is a plus
- Train employees on methods, techniques and safety procedures
- Strong communication skills because this person will be working with various departments
- Knowledge of CMAA, NEC and OSHA codes and requirements
- Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays
Minimum Qualifications:
- Clean background check
- Must pass a drug screening
- Must pass a physical
- Must provide personal hand tools and meters
- High school or GED is a minimum
- Strong knowledge of 3 phase power and single phase
- Minimum 3 years in the material handling industry
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
