Licensed Journeyman Electrician
Position Summary: Assist in install of equipment
We are seeking an experienced and licensed Journeyman Electrician for a commercial electrical project in Downtown Houston. The initial scope of work includes the removal and safe disconnection of electrical systems powering public-facing transit equipment. Candidates should have a strong background in commercial electrical work, including conduit, panel work, and site power distribution.
Duration of Project: 2 months (Will discuss FT position with ESP Electrical department in interview)
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License (Required)
- Minimum 4 years of commercial electrical experience
- Proficient with EMT conduit bending, wire pulls, and panel terminations
- Strong knowledge of commercial power distribution systems
- Must have own hand tools; power tools and PPE provided
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Reliable transportation and punctuality required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor urban environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform safe disconnection and removal of powered equipment, including surface-mounted and embedded units
- Terminate, label, and secure wiring and conduit in accordance with code
- Troubleshoot and assess existing circuits and perform necessary modifications
- Read and interpret commercial electrical plans, schematics, and as-builts
- Coordinate with project management and other trades to complete tasks efficiently
- Maintain clear documentation of all work completed, including before-and-after photos
- Adhere to NFPA 70 (NEC), OSHA, and site-specific safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow proper material handling procedures
Work Schedule:
- Monday–Friday (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM), with potential for extended hours or weekend work depending on site access
- Project-based schedule; additional opportunities may follow based on performance and workload
Compensation:
