We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Estate Planning Attorney to join our growing team.
Job Description:
As an Estate Planning Attorney, you will play a key role in advising clients on legal matters related to wills, trusts, probate, and estate administration. You will work directly with individuals and families to develop comprehensive estate plans that meet their unique needs and goals, while navigating complex state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Meet with clients to discuss their estate planning needs and objectives.
* Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents.
* Provide counsel on wealth transfer strategies, tax implications, and asset protection.
* Guide clients through the probate process, estate administration, and trust management.
* Stay updated on Virginia and federal estate planning laws and regulations.
* Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Manage a caseload and ensure timely, efficient completion of all tasks.
* Maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and personalized service.
Qualifications:
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
* Admission to practice in NB
* Minimum of 4-15 years of experience in estate planning, probate, or elder law.
* Strong knowledge of Ontario estate planning laws and procedures.
* Exceptional communication, drafting, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A client-centered mindset and strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
* LL.M. in Estate Planning, Taxation, or related field.
* Experience with business succession planning and charitable giving strategies.
* Knowledge of elder law, long-term care planning, and Medicaid.
