Job Description

AbleLight Inc. is conducting a search for volunteer Board of Directors with significant faith integration expertise who reside in our states of greatest operations: California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, or Washington.

AbleLight Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in ten states. Through Christian love, AbleLight whole-heartedly supports and advocates for all people with Developmental Disabilities to ensure security, dignity, and hope.

The AbleLight Board provides fiduciary oversight of AbleLight. Directors are expected to actively engage in quarterly regular Board meetings (two are in-person and two are virtual), occasional special meetings, task forces and other Board support for AbleLight. Directors are unpaid volunteers. AbleLight pays for all travel and other expenses and provides administrative support. Directors are elected to a three-year term and are eligible for additional terms.

Ideal candidates will:

• Have extensive executive-level experience in a Christian based health care, social services, or church that has multi sites where you were accountable for leading a culture of faith.
• Have prior faith experience sharing the gospel with multiple delivery methods for individuals with a disability and have a passion for serving individuals with developmental disabilities through Christian faith and love.
• Have skills of critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving, and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and aligning consensus among diverse opinions and perspectives for AbleLight’s best interests.
• Have a commitment to make the world better for the IDD community, and to represent AbleLight to the world. Leverage relationships and connections to advance our Mission.
• Reside in one of our states of greatest operations: California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, or Washington.
