The City of North Kansas is currently recruiting for the position of FIREFIGHTER EMT / EMT-P / EMT-P STUDENT

Summary of Duties

Responds to both emergency and non-emergency situations and provides management and supervision for patient care and advanced life support care. Performs firefighting, hazardous material response, technical rescue response, fire safety presentations, fire code inspections, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and other related duties.

Salary Information

Beginning salary is $55,502/yr for FF/Paramedic. FF/Paramedic students will begin at the FF/EMT salary for non-exempt shift work which is $41,600/yr. After Paramedic licensure, the FF/Paramedic will be paid at the Paramedic rate of $55,502/yr.

EMT Applicants that are currently in Paramedic School are encouraged to apply but must be licensed as a Missouri EMT-Paramedic at completion of their class to continue employment.

Firefighter/Paramedic applicants with previous experience may be eligible for up to $2,500 signing bonus

City provides tuition paid paramedic training for eligible Firefighter/EMTs.

Minimum qualifications are as follows:

• MO EMT or Paramedic License or current National Registry EMT or Paramedic
• Firefighter 1 and 2 Certifications
• Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Certifications
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification for paramedics or CPR for EMTs
• Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) within the last 12 months
• Valid driver's license
• Fire Service Entrance Exam within the last 12 months
• Pass a post offer background Investigation
• Pass a post offer medical examination, physical ability examination, and drug test

Compensation details: 15.95-30.23 Hourly Wage
