Overview

Saxe Doernberger & Vita, a national insurance coverage law firm with offices in Trumbull, Connecticut, is seeking a Finance Assistant with 2+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment.

We are among the elite law firms in the country solely representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. We advise our clients on all manner of insurance coverage issues including policy placements, renewals, drafting policy language, contractual risk transfer and claims. We also litigate coverage disputes between our clients and insurance carriers.

Responsibilities

• Manage an accounts receivable process with strong attention to detail.
• Prepare, review, and send invoices to clients, including relevant legal services provided.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with account receivable guidelines.
• Answer questions, resolve accounts receivable disputes, and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure internal databases are updated correctly.
• Communicate with attorneys, clients, and administrative staff with professionalism.
• Handle special projects as assigned.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience with accounts receivable and invoicing in legal or similar industry.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook as well as experience using accounting software.
• Strong commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Professional and positive demeanor.
• High degree of confidentiality.
• Skilled with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills.
• Finance experience in a legal environment is a plus.
