Howmet has an immediate opening for a Forklift Mechanic in our Rancho Cucamonga Operations. This position is a key member of the Facilities team.
Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, forged rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.
**SUMMARY** : Maintains forklift serviceability by completing preventive maintenance requirements and repairs; maintaining vehicle records.

* Maintains forklift truck serviceability by conducting periodic inspections; completing preventive maintenance requirements; identifying and repairing or replacing faulty or suspect parts
* Repairs and upgrades forklift trucks by listening to operator's description of malfunction; conducting tests; identifying problem and resolution
* Verifies repairs by test-driving vehicle
* Completes daily operational requirements by charging and maintaining batteries or propane tanks
* Maintains vehicle maintenance and operational history by initiating and updating records.
* Maintains safe work environment by verifying vehicle safety device operation; following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
* Evaluates new and proposed equipment by examining capabilities and conducting tests
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
* Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
**Qualifications**
* High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
* Minimum of 5 years experience
* Mechanic related certification a plus
* Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
* International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U. S. Person status. ITAR defines U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card' Holder), Political Asylee or Refugee.
