Job Summary

Our client is seeking laborers to put on shift with the operations crew to help manage ash.

Job Description

• Shoveling of ash and trash build-up from under and around conveyor systems and hoppers. Transport with wheelbarrow
• General removal of debris throughout the plant
• Cleaning and maintenance inside boilers and hoppers. (Confined Space with full-face respirator with full-face respirator)
• Material handling of plant material and equipment including staging, pipes, air hoses, etc.
• Painting
• Operating transport equipment (Bobcat, forklift, man lift)
• Blow down areas
  

General Plant Requirements:

• All contractors must receive site safety orientation training before commencing work
• Contractors must be able to stand for long periods
• Contractors must be able to use job tools as provided (shovels, racks, hoes, wheelbarrows, cutting tools, grinders and vacuum systems)
• Contractors will supply the necessary PPE to perform the task and the PPE must be worn
• Contractors must be physically able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently
• Contractor lead to attend morning planning meetings
• Contractors will have their own labeled lock-out locks
• Contractor may need to access rooftops and Confined Spaces with full-face respirators as well as hot/dusty environments
• Contractor must be trained in the hazards of working around conveyors, heavy equipment, and in a hot and dusty environment
  

 

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Degree or equivalent

 

Additional Requirements

• Shift Hours: 1 st Shift 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

  • Hearing protection
  • Fall protection
  • Full & half face respirators
  • Long sleeve shirt and long pants
  • Work gloves

  • Respiratory procedures.

  • Lock out/tag out
  • Fall Protection
  • Lead and hazard recognition
  • Bobcat and fork truck operation

• Medical Clearance
  • Initial OSHA Respirator Exam & review
  • Initial Blood, Lead and ZZP test
  • Medical clearance exam
  • Audiogram
