Job Description

LaSalle Network has partnered with a dynamic nonprofit organization in hiring a Grant Writer ! We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our client’s team, here in Chicago, and play a crucial role in securing funding for the organization by identifying grant opportunities, crafting compelling grant proposals and managing the grant application process.

This Grant Writer position requires exceptional writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This will be a fully remote, part-time, W2 contract opportunity.

Grant Writer Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of potential funders and grant opportunities
  • Write persuasive and well-structured grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's objectives and impact
  • Collaborate with program managers and other team members to gather necessary information and data for proposals
  • Customize proposals to meet the specific requirements and guidelines of each funding opportunity
  • Manage the end-to-end grant application process, including preparing, reviewing and submitting grant applications
  • Ensure that all applications are submitted accurately and on time
  • Work in a deadline-driven environment to meet tight submission deadlines for multiple grant applications simultaneously
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure that all deadlines are met
  • Track and report on the status of grant applications and awards
  • Ensure that the organization complies with all grant-related reporting requirements
  • Foster positive relationships with potential funders and grant-making organizations
  • Communicate with funders as needed to clarify application requirements or address questions
Grant Writer Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Nonprofit Management)
  • Proven experience in grant writing for a nonprofit organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software (e.g., GrantHub)
