We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated High School Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with special needs in a high school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies
- Modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the needs of individual students
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure that students with special needs are included in the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible
- Monitor and assess student progress, and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school meetings as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance

- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with high school students with special needs
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
