Job Summary: The Master Data Engineer at Sonance dba James Loudspeaker is responsible for managing and maintaining the master data essential to the production and engineering processes of building high-quality speakers. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data across various systems, supporting efficient manufacturing and innovative product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Master Data Management:
  • Maintain and update master data in the ERP system, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and implement data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with established standards.
  1. ERP Data Integrity:
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to resolve data issues.
  • Implement data validation and cleansing processes to improve data quality.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to master data management.
  • Develop and implement solutions to streamline data-related processes.
  • Train and support staff on best practices for data entry and maintenance.
  1. MES and ERP Alignment:
  • Work with IT and operations teams to ensure seamless integration between MES and ERP systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data flows and system interfaces.
  • Participate in system upgrades and enhancements to support business needs.
  1. Data Governance:
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Lead data governance initiatives to enhance data quality and reliability.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to address data governance issues.
  1. Reporting and Analysis:
  • Generate and analyze reports to monitor data quality and process performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Support decision-making processes by providing accurate and timely data.
Requirements:

  1. Project Support:
    • Participate in data-related projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and new product launches.
    • Provide data expertise and support to project teams, ensuring data requirements are met and data integrity is maintained.
    • Collaborate with R&D to support the introduction of new speaker designs and components.
  2. Training and Support:
    • Provide training and support to end-users on data management processes and tools within the production environment.
    • Assist users with data-related issues and inquiries to ensure smooth operations.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for data management procedures specific to speaker manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data management, data governance, and data analysis within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and master data management principles.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality control.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with specific ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Certification in data management or related areas.
  • Experience in the audio or electronics manufacturing industry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
