Design Engineer – Machine Design

We're seeking a design engineer with hands-on mechanical experience and strong machine design fundamentals. The ideal candidate thrives in a manufacturing setting, collaborates well across teams, and takes pride in creating equipment that performs reliably in real-world conditions. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence the performance, reliability, and serviceability of complex mechanical systems.

  • Machine design mindset – You understand how machines function and are assembled, and how design impacts reliability, performance, and serviceability.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough – You produce accurate, clean designs with BOMs that support manufacturing and inventory control.
  • Collaborative across teams – You're comfortable aligning with engineering, service, sales, and production to meet customer needs.
  • Field-aware – You're willing and able to travel when needed to help resolve technical issues or validate product improvements.
  • Efficient with tools and documentation – You work confidently with CAD, ERP, and PLM systems and maintain accurate technical records.

Duties :

  • Create machine and component designs that are manufacturable, durable, and aligned with internal and customer specifications.
  • Generate detailed part and assembly drawings, along with supporting BOMs and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production, and service teams across multiple locations to maintain consistency and support product improvements.
  • Interpret relevant standards and apply them in the design of safe, compliant systems.
  • Support testing, prototyping, and troubleshooting of both new and legacy equipment.
  • On occasion, travel to customer sites to assess field issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in initiatives for cost reduction, reliability improvement, and performance enhancement.
  • Enter and manage documentation and BOMs within ERP and PLM systems.
  • Communicate cross-functionally with procurement, sales, assembly, and service.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial machinery, equipment, or manufacturing systems is ideal, but there is flexibility for an exceptional candidate
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, component selection, and materials.
