Top 3–5 Daily Responsibilities:
- Accurately scribe physician-patient interactions in a fast-paced oncology/hematology clinic
- Transcribe prerecorded audio notes from physicians into written format
- Review and edit transcripts for accuracy, ensuring proper use of medical terminology
- Verify unclear or inconsistent terms using medical references or through clarification with physicians
- Enter and retrieve data for inclusion in medical records and reports
Position Overview:
The Medical Scribe plays a key role in supporting physicians by transcribing audio recordings of medical procedures and patient interactions into accurate, written reports. This includes reviewing and editing transcripts, identifying and correcting discrepancies, and ensuring proper medical terminology is used. The role requires a strong understanding of medical vocabulary, keen attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality documentation under time constraints.
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute with high accuracy
- Ability to distinguish between similar-sounding medical terms and detect inconsistencies
- Experience with data entry and electronic medical records is a plus
