St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation in Rockville, MD, is seeking candidates for a part-time (15-hr a week on average) Minister of Music and Media Producer. St. John’s has one Sunday morning worship service at 10:00 am and seasonal services including Ash Wednesday, Palm/Passion Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, Pentecost, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day worship when December 25 is a Sunday. In addition to Sunday worship, there is Sunday morning rehearsal for the worship team including the cantor. The Minister of Music and Media Producer (MM) leads music and encourages congregational singing from the Rodgers organ and Yamaha grand piano for 10:00am Sunday worship services, and is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of music for Sunday worship and seasonal midweek services. The MM serves as director for the weekly worship team (including professional cantor) and the adult choir (who sings approximately 5 times a year for festival days).
