Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid 3 days/week onsite)
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Network Engineer with approximately 3 years of experience to join our team. This role will focus on supporting, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network environments, with hands-on exposure to Cisco technologies, VoIP systems, edge and core routing, and Tier 2 support . The ideal candidate is eager to grow into more advanced networking responsibilities while ensuring the stability and reliability of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 network support , including troubleshooting and resolving escalated connectivity, VoIP, and routing issues.
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls in enterprise environments.
- Assist with VoIP system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting (Cisco Call Manager, SIP, QoS).
- Support edge and core routing infrastructure , including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on larger network projects, upgrades, and migrations.
- Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and support procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in a network engineering or Tier 2 support role.
- Practical knowledge of Cisco routing and switching (CCNA or equivalent experience preferred).
- Experience with VoIP configuration and troubleshooting .
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and firewall basics .
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
