This role is 100% Remote.
What a Network Technician will be doing
- Manage all AAV (Alternate Access Vendors/Telco) trouble tickets necessary to support the several backhaul integration projects being managed by the MITBH (10G BWU, CSR Rehomes, CIR Upgrades, etc.).
- Manage inbound calls from AAV vendors requesting support to troubleshoot circuit issues.
- Working with AAV/Telco to test and turn up new AAV circuits.
- Track, and report all activities daily.
What we are looking in a Network Technician
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering and/or 5 years equivalent work experience in telecom network infrastructures.
- Technical experience working with AAV/Telco regarding the test and turn-up of new AAV circuits, including troubleshooting testing issues (i.e. NOC experience, circuit testing, and troubleshooting).
- Prior experience with order management & AAV maintenance tickets is a MUST.
- Familiar with RFC 2544 testing requirements and methodologies.
- Familiar with modern wireless network architecture.
- Strong ability to independently drive issues to resolution.
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to accurately report, track issues, and perform research using various systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Windows products, and databases. (MS Excel, Incubator, MS SharePoint).
- Experience with systems such as Spirent/VisionWorks, SLIPED, ATOMS, Pronghorn, and PIER is preferred.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with minimal direct supervision.
