Job Description
- Communicating : Sending and receiving radio and telephone messages, and communicating with other operators to exchange instructions
- Operating equipment : Installing, operating, and monitoring radio equipment, including sound-recording equipment
- Monitoring : Monitoring emergency frequencies and responding to distress calls
- Maintaining equipment : Cleaning, repairing, and storing equipment, and testing it to ensure it's working properly
- Documenting : Recording radio and phone traffic, and recording signals for analysis
- Dispatching : Dispatching emergency personnel
- Broadcasting : Broadcasting weather reports and traffic conditions
- Interpreting : Interpreting coded messages and emergency signals
- Locating : Using direction-finding equipment to determine the source of signals
Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Radio Operator Certification
- GMDSS General Oper.
- BOSIET / CA-EBS (OPITO)/FOET
- TWIC
- USCG Medical
- Safegulf/Rigpass
