Job Description
A healthcare network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Operating Room team and assist with a lot of spine surgeries.
Responsibilities:
The Operating Room Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery will:
- Participate in preoperative assessments of patients scheduled for spine surgery
- Assist in preparing the operating room for spine procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Providing direct assistance throughout the procedure
- Monitor patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, throughout the surgery
- Provide immediate postoperative care to patients in the recovery area
- Accurately document surgical procedures, patient progress, and any complications or observations made during the surgery
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, test results, and other information for medical records
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- NYS Physician Assistant (PA) license
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA)
- Master's Degree
- Able to suture independently in the OR
