About the job

Job Title: Operations & Logistics Coordinator

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Type: Contractor - Full-Time

Industry: Haircare

About Bur Bur:

Bur Bur is a clean haircare brand inspired by the healing powers of nature. Our formulas are carefully crafted with potent natural botanicals, featuring our hero ingredient, the burdock plant. Based on our grandmother's DIY burdock hair treatment, our oil promotes hair growth and overall scalp health. Bur Bur products are original, cruelty-free, and proudly made in California.

After two years of research and formulation after formulation, we landed on our hero product - Growing Season Hair Oil and launched in 2022. Between 2022 and 2024 there were a lot of learnings and a ton of growth, resulting in much needed expansion and team building. Now, we are looking to take our brand to the next level and invite curious, hardworking, like-minded individuals to join our team of creative thinkers and doers. At our core, we are on a mission to elevate the standards of the haircare industry, educate consumers, and give you your best hair ever.

About the Role:

We’re a growing, founder-led brand that believes in hands-on, intentional operations rooted in quality, sustainability, and storytelling. Our products are manufactured in the USA, Korea, and China, and we pride ourselves on maintaining close, collaborative relationships with our production partners to ensure every detail reflects our values. As we scale, we’re building a small but mighty team in Los Angeles—people who care deeply about the craft, the process, and the purpose behind everything we do. We’re looking for an Operations & Logistics Coordinator to join us and bring that same heart and precision into our backend operations.

This is a core role focused on ensuring seamless day-to-day operations that support our customer experience and overall growth. You’ll work across supply chain, logistics, vendor management, and inventory—connecting the dots between global manufacturing and final delivery. From managing inbound shipments and tracking production timelines to optimizing warehouse flows and supporting inventory accuracy, you'll be the operational glue that keeps everything running smoothly.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, founder-led environment—someone who’s organized, proactive, solutions-oriented, and excited to grow with a brand that’s building something special.

What You’ll Do:

Production & Supply Chain Management

  • Track and manage production timelines across USA, China, and Korea-based manufacturers.
  • Communicate daily with partners to ensure materials, testing, compliance, and timelines are on track.
  • Own component and finished goods tracking across multiple SKUs and packaging formats.

Inventory & Demand Planning

  • Monitor inventory across 3PL, warehouse, and in-office stock.
  • Support forecasting based on sales data, seasonality, and product launches.
  • Flag low inventory, manage restocks, and reduce risk of oversupply or sell-outs.

Logistics & Fulfillment

  • Manage international and domestic freight, customs paperwork, and delivery schedules.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, and fulfillment partners to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Troubleshoot logistics delays or issues quickly and effectively.

Vendor Relationships & Procurement

  • Own vendor communications—nurturing relationships, sourcing new options, and ensuring performance.
  • Handle component orders, vendor invoices, COAs, MSDS, and other compliance documents.
  • Assist in cost negotiation, supplier vetting, and managing MOQ challenges for a growing brand.

Internal Systems & Operations

  • Maintain clear systems for tracking production, operations timelines, and internal SOPs.
  • Work closely with the founders and cross-functional team (creative, product, marketing) for new launches.
  • Help develop tools and infrastructure as we scale, with a hands-on mindset.

What You Bring:

  • 2–4 years of experience in operations, supply chain, or product coordination—beauty or CPG preferred.
  • Deep attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
  • Experience working with global manufacturers.
  • Comfortable balancing big-picture planning with in-the-weeds daily tasks.
  • Proactive communicator who thrives in small, collaborative teams.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Los Angeles; this is a primarily in-office role (with some hybrid flexibility).
  • Proficiency in Shopify

Bonus If You Have:

  • Experience launching new SKUs from idea to delivery.
  • A genuine interest in beauty, wellness, and conscious product development.
