Job Description

SUMMARY: The Production Planning Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating manufacturing activities to meet customer expectations and ensure company goals. This role will also be responsible for procurement of raw materials, finished goods, packaging, parts and supplies. Responsibilities also include creating work orders, inventory management, setting production KPI’s, and monitoring production processes. The Production Planning Manager will collaborate with various departments to align strategies and integrate team members, ensuring a cohesive approach towards common production and inventory goals such as cost reductions, improved lead times, and excellent customer experience. A key focus for the Production Planning Manager will be to work across cross functional boundaries to drive continuous process improvements and efficiencies.

Essential Job Functions:

Production Scheduling

· Create manufacturing work orders for rugs, strike-offs, development samples, and sample replenishment based on requirements of each category. Schedule dates based on customer requirements, demand schedule or company goals. Create BOM and routing information based on order size. Receipt production, record actual activity, and complete work orders.

· Lead weekly production meeting communicating status of current schedule and performance metrics.

Procurement

· Create purchase orders for import rugs, raw materials, and all other items requiring purchase orders. Monitor, manage, and communicate deliveries of all purchased materials and services. Receipt purchase orders and complete as needed.

· Order non-purchase order items such as office supplies, cleaning supplies, service calls, etc.

Dispatch Shipments

· Dispatch orders for shipment based on communication from Project Managers. Communicate dispatch status to team.

· Assist in pulling and processing sample shipments.

· Monitor dispatch log to ensure timely shipping and invoicing.

Inventory Management

· Establish and manage re-order points for raw materials and stock samples.

· Establish proper procedures and controls to ensure inventory accuracy.

· Perform inventory spot counts for inventory accuracy.

· Plan and oversee physical inventory counts as needed.
