The Permanente Federation LLC (the Federation) is the national leadership and consulting organization for the eight Permanente Medical Groups (PMGs), which, together with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plans (KFHP) and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (KFH), comprise Kaiser Permanente. The PMGs employ nearly 24,000 physicians, approximately 90,000 nurses, other clinicians and staff, and provide care to over 12.6 million Kaiser Permanente members. The Federation works on behalf of the PMGs to optimize care delivery and advance Permanente Medicine - medicine that is patient centered, evidence based, technology enabled, culturally responsive, team delivered, and physician led. SUMMARY:
Manages multiple large-scale projects from initiation to close-out. Proactively monitors, identifies, and mitigates risks, issues, and trigger events within and across projects. Ensures the alignment, buy-in, engagement, and support of project stakeholders. Reviews vendor performance levels, ensures service level agreements are met, and participates in contract negotiations with vendors.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages multiple large-scale projects with responsibility and accountability for project outcomes from initiation to close-out, developing strategies for integrating medical terminology and coding practices into clinical workflows.
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., NCQA, CMS, HHS) and stay updated on emerging medical terminology and coding trends.
- Solve complex issues by applying deep subject matter expertise and establishing methods, techniques, and criteria for project success.
- Builds and maintains relationships with internal customers, third-party vendors, senior management, and business leaders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns or obstacles.
- Conduct thorough analyses of business processes and functional requirements.
- Develops complex project plans which include scope identification and management, schedule, inter-dependencies, and resource forecast.
- Monitors overall project performance (e.g., on time, on budget, within scope, and with quality) against plan, ensuring measurement of business benefits and outcomes, and adjusts as needed.
- Leads project activities related to organizational change management (e.g., development and execution of user adoption, implementation, and training plans) as defined by the project.
- Ensures all appropriate stakeholders are represented and included.
- Delivers formal presentations and provides reports to various senior audiences.
