We’re caught in a bind and hiring ASAP. This leading publishing company in Grand Rapids is looking for Bindery Assistants to join their team! As a Bindery Assistant, you’ll operate the machinery used to finalize production on printed materials such as vehicle manuals, various books, and religious publications. 

 

A typical day as a Bindery Assistant includes:

• Performing a variety of hand operations such as gathering and inserting materials for binding
• Loading machines with printed signatures
• Removing printed signatures and books from machinery to pack for shipment
• Maintaining production, quality, and report standards set by the company
• Performing general housekeeping tasks
• Adhering to safety rules and procedures at all times

 

Let’s chat about the Bindery Assistant role if you:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent work experience
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Maintain a steady working pace without sacrificing quality
• Can read and execute simple instructions
• Are able to accurately add, subtract, and count
• Understand the importance of a safe working environment
• Don’t mind the workout that comes with lifting/moving 15-25 lbs regularly 

 

We offer Bindery Assistants:

• A pay rate of $16-$17/hour
• Full-time work on 3rd shift
• A $100 bonus when you refer a friend to WSI
