OVERVIEW
Insight Global is seeking a QC Manager to join a large construction firm in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the QC program in collaboration with the Project Superintendent. You will typically coordinate the activities of multiple QC Engineers on one or more projects. You will also participate in regional efforts to promote quality control.
Essential Duties:
- Lead start and implementation of the six-step QC/safety process.
- Assist with the development of the prep meeting agendas and participate in the prep meeting for each definable feature of work. Review/maintain the project quality process log (QPL).
- Work with owner's QA and management on all quality-related issues.
- Review initial/follow-up inspection reports, punch list items and close-in inspection results.
- Understand contract, plans, specifications and codes. Submit/review RFIs to ensure changes are made in the field.
- Receive trade partner test and inspection requests and produce a coordinated test and inspection schedule.
- Document/submit a daily report of QC activity.
- Audit trade partner QC procedures. Report problems with trade partner work or QC programs to management.
- Participate in the selection for outside testing contractors and verify adherence to testing standards. Coordinate third party testing agency activities. Coordinate and schedule for source inspections.
Position Qualifications:
- A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture or construction management, or similar experience in a related position.
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoCAD.
- USACE Certification and site experience highly preferred
Schedule : Monday - Friday | 6:30am/7:00am start time | ~10-hour shifts
Compensation : $35 - $40/hr. Compensation will vary depending on individual skills, education, and years of experience.
