Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous proofreader to join our company as a proofreader, you will be responsible for reviewing written content to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail and a strong command of the English language.

Responsibilities:

• Review written materials, including but not limited to articles, blog posts, marketing copy, and reports, to identify errors and ensure they adhere to editorial standards.
• Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors.
• Verify factual accuracy and consistency in content.
• Ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency in writing style.
• Collaborate effectively with writers, editors, and other stakeholders to maintain quality standards and meet deadlines.
• Use appropriate tools and resources to conduct thorough proofreading, including style guides and dictionaries.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a proofreader or editor.
• Excellent knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency with proofreading tools and software is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in a similar role in [industry or field].
• Familiarity with specific style guides (e.g., APA, Chicago Manual of Style).
