We are seeking a meticulous and experienced HECM (Reverse) Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the thorough and accurate underwriting of residential loans, while adhering to company guidelines, secondary market investor standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate loan applications and associated documentation in accordance with HECM guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain prompt turnaround times for initial decisions and condition reviews as per departmental expectations.
- Collaborate with Quality Control, Compliance, and Funding teams to resolve issues, assess risks, and ensure compliance.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of HECM product guidelines and risk assessment tools.
- Adjust loan terms as necessary and identify additional conditions to support credit decisions.
- Conduct thorough reviews of borrower profiles, including income documentation, credit reports, and appraisals, ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained.
- Demonstrate proficiency in manual underwriting policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about secondary market trends and industry practices affecting underwriting quality and loan origination.

Requirements:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in residential loan underwriting.
- DE certification and recent FHA underwriting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FHA/HECM policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with various fraud detection tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven track record of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Previous mortgage processing experience is advantageous.
- Experience with repurchase response and rebuttal review is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office products and other relevant software applications.

Physical Environment: This position is primarily remote, requiring a dedicated and quiet workspace at home, along with reliable internet access.

Travel: Occasional local travel may be necessary for company meetings, programs, or events.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 40,000.00 140,000.00 Per Year
