Satellite Operator (SatOps) – Entry Level

Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage daily operations of the satellites and the supporting TT&C ground network.
- Respond to and troubleshoot alarms related to satellite and network operations.
- Implement command sequences for normal and emergency satellite operations.
- Support daily payload operations of satellites.
- Assist in the analysis of spacecraft anomalies, compiling data to support anomaly reports.
- Oversee the satellite ground station network and assist with pass activities.
- Conduct routine checks on spacecraft performance, compile reports, and contribute to preliminary analysis.
- Document operations procedures, create shift logs, and assist with shift briefings.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions and meetings related to satellite operations.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field (e.g., Remote Sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science).
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility to work on a rotating schedule, including holidays, weekends, and night shifts.
- Eligibility to obtain security clearance.
- Desired: Prior experience in satellite operations.
- Proficiency in scripting or Python programming.
- Familiarity with Linux OS and commercial cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
