We are excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist to join our team! In this role, you will provide high-quality therapeutic intervention services to school-aged students facing challenges with fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing abilities. You will work primarily with Charter School students who have documented motor or sensory impairments, guiding them toward achieving their full potential through tailored support.

Your expertise will be invaluable as you assess and develop individualized goals in collaboration with students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). You'll also administer standardized assessments and provide education and support to parents, creating a holistic approach to each child's growth and development.

Compensation:

Level 1 (0-5 years of experience): $45 - $52.50 per hour
Level 2 (5+ years of experience): $50 - $62 per hour
Essential Responsibilities

As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will:

Utilize your clinical knowledge of fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing to assess students' needs comprehensively.
Collaborate with other specialists to determine eligibility for services and develop effective therapeutic interventions.
Provide direct instruction in therapeutic services, helping students develop compensatory skills in areas where they face challenges.
Maintain timely and accurate treatment notes and progress reports in line with school policy.
Keep a detailed log of services provided and any missed sessions due to absences.
Qualifications

To thrive in this position, you will need:

A Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
A valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification for infants, children, and adults.
The ability to pass background checks and health screenings, along with current immunizations (e.g., TB).
A valid California Board License or CTC Rehabilitation Certificate, and the commitment to complete any necessary continuing education for license renewal.
A valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation. (Note: Virtual providers are exempt from this requirement.)
Key Competencies

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A genuine enthusiasm for working with students with special needs.
A solid understanding of legal and ethical obligations in the field.
Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and how they may affect developmental skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft and Google documents, with the ability to maintain accurate virtual service records in compliance with school policy and HIPAA regulations.
Excellent customer service skills, both in-person and virtually.
Physical Demands

This position may require:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout school and classroom environments.
Adjusting posture to interact with students, including kneeling, sitting, and bending as needed.
Assisting students with physical challenges, requiring a moderate level of physical exertion, including occasional lifting/moving of items over 25 pounds.
Effective hearing and speech communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff.
Work Environment

You will primarily work indoors in climate-controlled school or pediatric clinic settings. While most duties will be performed in a quiet environment, be prepared for varying sound levels due to classroom activities. Your role will often involve working independently while collaborating with students, staff, and families to foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
