Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist to join our team and provide high-quality, therapeutic intervention services to school-aged students. In this role, you will work with students who may have delays in fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing abilities. Our Occupational Therapy services are designed for Charter School students with documented motor or sensory impairments, and eligibility is determined through the IEP process.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate students, develop and monitor individualized goals and treatment plans aligned with their IEPs, and provide specialized support to those with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other diverse abilities. You will also administer standardized assessments and offer valuable education and support to parents.

Compensation:

Level 1 (0-5 years experience): $45 - $52.50 per hour
Level 2 (5+ years experience): $50 - $62 per hour
Key Responsibilities

Assess students' fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing abilities for new referrals and three-year re-evaluations.
Serve as a specialist in fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing to help determine eligibility for services.
Provide direct therapeutic instruction and compensatory skills in areas where students may struggle due to their impairments.
Maintain detailed documentation of services provided and missed due to absences.
Complete treatment notes and progress reports promptly in accordance with school and billing policies.
Qualifications

Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (infant, child, adult).
Ability to pass background checks, health screenings, and provide valid immunizations (TB) within the last year.
Maintain a valid California Board License or CTC Rehabilitation Certificate, including completing Continuing Education courses for license renewal.
Valid Driver's License and proof of auto insurance, along with reliable transportation. (Virtual providers are exempt from this requirement.)
Competent in using Microsoft and Google documents, with the ability to maintain accurate virtual service records in compliance with HIPAA.

Physical Demands

This position involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the school environment.

The role may require assisting students with physical challenges, necessitating the ability to kneel, sit, stand, crawl, push, and pull throughout the day.
You will also need to complete necessary paperwork, which may involve extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
Occasional lifting/moving of items over 25 pounds may be necessary.
Work Environment

The position is primarily indoors, in a climate-controlled setting that is typical for a TK-12 school or pediatric clinic.
You will interact with students, school staff, and parents in various settings, including in-person and virtual environments.
The sound level may vary based on school activities, and you may often work independently.
