Job Description

Position:

Hamadeh Educational Services is seeking a School Social Worker to join our team! You will work with our students in providing top of the line care using the Michigan Standards at the elementary and secondary level in a charter public school.

Academy Mission:

The Academies mission is to provide their students with a quality education that focuses on a core curriculum and international cultures including the study of language. The academies provide an education of the whole child by integrating different diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to their college-preparatory program serving families in the Greater Detroit area. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and/or indirect Social Work Services
• Collaborate with the principal, teachers, and other school personnel
• Plan, organize, recommend school programs to help students improve their academic achievement
• Collaborate with the IEP committees in determining the eligibility of the emotionally impaired programs and services
• Assists in the supervision of student discipline and oversee the implementation of the classroom and school discipline policies
• Plan, organize, recommend, and schedule appropriate direct in-service training programs 
• Performs other duties as may be assigned

Requirements:

• Must have Master’s Degree in Social Work or Equivalent Education
• Must have a Master’s Level Social Work license OR Limited Master’s Level Social Work License.
• Must have SSW 310 or have full or temporary school social work approval from Michigan Department of Education
• Experience in providing direct and/or indirect social work services
• Must possess excellent organization, planning, professionalism, and time management skills
• Social Work experience must be in an educational setting
• Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
• Must possess excellent verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience working in culturally diverse setting.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Flexible open minded, self driven team member
• Must be authorized to work in the US
