JOB SUMMARY:
As a Security Investigator-Level 2, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the assets and interests of the company by detecting and apprehending shoplifters, conducting internal theft investigations, and preparing detailed investigative reports.
You will be required to work closely with law enforcement and prosecuting agencies, providing testimony and evidence in criminal and civil proceedings. This position demands a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and problem-solving abilities. This position involves advanced investigative work, including analyzing security threats, internal and external theft, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies.
The Security Investigator Level 2 is expected to demonstrate a higher level of expertise and leadership compared to Level 1 investigators, often leading investigative teams and handling sensitive cases. You may be required to respond to Major Incident to conduct a preliminary investigation and provide a detailed report.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Detect and apprehend shoplifters
- Conduct internal theft and corporate investigations
- Prepare thorough and concise investigative reports related to crimes against the company
- Effectively present information to Law Enforcement and Prosecuting Agencies
- Collaborate with all company departments to protect our Core Values
- Create and maintain theft prevention and shrink reduction strategies
- Provide testimony and evidence at Criminal and Civil proceedings
- Proactively building and maintaining Law Enforcement relationships
- Problem solving and decision-making recurring on a daily basis
- Highly confidential material is handled routinely
- Present findings and evidence to law enforcement, prosecuting agencies, and company management
- Able to present Loss Prevention/Shrink topics to an audience in a training environment
- Prioritizing workflow from multiple locations and ability to respond based on our core values
- Collect and evaluate Open-Source data for investigative purposes
- Mentor and Train Security Investigator-Level 1 personnel
- Oversee security operations for company events, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Degree and/or Certificate preferred
- Knowledge of Criminal Law and particularly of PC490.5
- PC832 Certificate (level 3, 2 or 1) required
- Current First Aid, CPR Certificate and AED Certificate required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Case Management software
- Preferred experience with Exception Reporting software (Agilence)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise of good judgment in the apprehension, detention and/or arrest of suspects
- Must have a valid California Driver License with a clear driving record*
- Ability to work non-traditional work hours will be required - such as graveyard, swing and day shifts, in addition weekends
- Required to travel to ALL Stater Bros. stores in all counties
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of individuals doing business from within and outside the Company
- Ability to represent the Company in a Professional manner
