Job Description

Senior Firmware Engineer needed for a growing medical device company in Parsippany, NJ. This position is ideal for someone with experience providing technical support to manufacturing and production test departments.

Responsibilities include developing 2D and 3D image capture equipment, implementing embedded controllers for 3D image capture systems, and developing firmware using C programming.

The Senior Firmware Engineer will be needed onsite 5 days each week. This is a full-time permanent employment opportunity with outstanding benefits.

Qualifications and Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronics engineering.
• 10+ years of digital electronic circuit design and development experience.
• 5+ years of experience in C Programming .
• Proficiency in implementing embedded controllers via microcontrollers, e.g., ARM, as well as FPGA (Xilinx) and high-end (32 bits) microcontrollers and IDE tools (CCS from TI)
• Clear understanding and experience with schematic capture using DX Designer and PCB layout (PADS) tools.
• Knowledgeable in high-speed communication and hardware implementations.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team.

Experience and Qualifications:

Here is what we need on the Linux side.

Need embedded Linux and Yocto experience.

Linux (kernel, drivers, device tree, user-mode applications), Yocto, u-boot and secure boot.

• Working knowledge of at least one of these controllers is greatly preferred:
  • TI
  • MAC
  • ST Micro
  • STM32
  • NXP
  • MX MP
• Proficiency in analog design, including DC/DC converters, photo flash chargers, LED drivers, etc.
• Experience with circuit and system design of image capture equipment utilizing CMOS/CCD camera and photo flash technology.
• Working knowledge of C++ programming.
• Familiar with all aspects of product design from prototyping through full production release and ongoing engineering.
