Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality speech and language therapy services within a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with diverse patient populations. This is a critical short-term assignment offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact in patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing function.
- Conduct dysphagia evaluations and provide rehabilitation, including Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and/or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families on treatment goals, techniques, and progress.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- Active New York State license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience with diverse patient populations (required)
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
- Specialized training in dysphagia evaluation and rehabilitation, including MBS and/or FEES competence
