Supervisor, Cytogenetics
Location: Boston Teaching Hospital
- Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance (if applicable) eligible.
- Schedule: could be 5x8's or 4x10's.
- Will supervise 4 Cytogenetic Techs.
- Must have fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) experience.
- Must have ASCP certification. CG (ASCP) certification highly desired.
Responsibilities:
- Provides daily supervision of technical, clerical, and service employees.
- Plans, organizes, delineates, and schedules duties and responsibilities of Laboratory staff in conjunction with the Laboratory Managers.
- Assists other technologists as needed in technical problems and interpretation of results.
- Determines priority of work at the laboratory, assuring timely completion of work.
- Is responsible for ordering and maintaining an appropriate level of inventory and laboratory supplies.
- Maintains manuals on all Standard Operating Procedures and required records and reports.
- Responsible to assure staff adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for orientation, training and competency assessments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Science or Clinical Lab Science.
- 5+ years of relevant lab experience required
- 1+ years of leadership experience (such as a Senior, Lead, Supervisor, or Manager) required. 3+ years lab supervisory experience preferred.
- Must have ASCP certification. CG (ASCP) certification highly desired.
