Stell helps engineers at hardware companies in heavily-regulated industries (Space, Aviation, Medical Devices) do documentation and tracking of technical contract compliance.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Technical Program Manager to lead our security compliance and risk management initiatives. This role combines technical expertise with program management skills to drive security frameworks, compliance programs, and risk mitigation strategies across our organization. You'll work at the intersection of technology and security, ensuring our systems meet the highest standards while enabling business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Technical Leadership
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for security frameworks and risk management initiatives, translate complex technical security requirements into actionable business processes
- Coordinate with engineering, IT, and business teams to integrate security requirements into technical projects and maintain comprehensive security compliance
- Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams to implement security controls in AWS environments
- Leverage compliance automation platforms (Drata, Vanta) to streamline monitoring and reporting
Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee compliance with industry standards including NIST 800-171/53, SOC 2, and other relevant frameworks
- Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate audit preparation and remediation activities
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities
- Maintain compliance documentation and evidence collection processes
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 3–4 years of experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) roles
- Demonstrated experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
- Hands-on experience with compliance automation platforms such as Drata or Vanta
- Strong background with security frameworks including NIST 800-171/53 and SOC compliance
Technical Skills
- Understanding of cloud security architecture and best practices
- Experience with security control implementation and testing
- Familiarity with compliance automation and continuous monitoring tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Soft Skills
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong communication abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-directed leadership with ability to take initiative, identify opportunities, and drive projects from concept to completion with minimal oversight
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- Other relevant security certifications are a plus
Additional Experience
- Experience in regulated industries or high-compliance environments
- Background in security program development and implementation
- Experience with additional compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, PCI DSS)
