Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Holland, MI (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Position Overview: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SolidWorks, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and the Microsoft Office Suite. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for our products, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
Responsibilities of the Technical Writer:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, product specifications, installation guides, and maintenance manuals.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand product specifications and features.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create and edit technical illustrations and diagrams that accurately represent product components and assemblies.
- Design and format documentation using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator to ensure a professional and visually appealing layout.
- Write clear, concise, and user-friendly content that simplifies complex technical information for various audiences.
- Review and edit content created by other team members to ensure consistency and adherence to company standards.
- Update and revise documentation based on product changes, user feedback, and internal reviews.
- Maintain a documentation library and ensure all documents are organized and easily accessible.
- Assist in the development and implementation of documentation standards and best practices.
- Provide support and training to other team members on documentation tools and processes as needed.
Required Skills of the Technical Writer:
- Associate's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing or a similar role.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating technical illustrations and diagrams.
- Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator for document design and layout.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus Skills of the Technical Writer:
- Experience in the agricultural industry.
- Knowledge of other design and publishing software.
