Job Description
Maintain and repairs a wide variety of machine shop tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, die-sets, gauges, templates and other related equipment. Layout and perform required machinery operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Selects and properly grinds cutting tools for work on all varieties of materials and types of cuts. Operates all tool room machines.
- Performs skilled fitting, fabricating, assembling, indexing, timing and adjusting work.
- Heat-treat tools to proper hardness and temperature.
- Recognizes and immediately corrects machining difficulties and errors (or cause to have corrected) if fault is due to machine tool, design, material or equipment.
- Performs al tasks in a timely, safe and accurate manner to avoid delays in operations
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Reasoning ability – ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Language skills – ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
