It's the toughest job you'll ever love! Youth & Family Counseling (YFC) is seeking a Trauma-Informed Therapist to join our growing team! This position is on-site at the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center and has the important role of helping victims and families heal from traumatic abuse along with supporting the LCCAC multi-disciplinary team. This position is part of YFC's commitment to increasing access to mental healthcare by providing community-based services. While this position is at LCCAC, the Trauma-Informed Therapist will report to one of YFC's Assistant Clinical Directors and function as a member of the YFC clinical staff,
Responsibilities: - Deliver clinical services to child victims of trauma/abuse and support to their families while functioning as an active member of the LCCAC multidisciplinary team.
- Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans that address symptom management and underlying problems to achieve target clinical outcomes.
- Identify issues that impede client progress and adjust treatment plan, approach, and communication style as needed.
- Coordinate care with LCCAC team and primary care physician, referring professional and school as appropriate.
- Provide case management to child victims and family members and witness forensic interviews.
- Manage clinical emergencies.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with supervisor.
Job Requirements & Preferences: - Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field (candidates must be willing to pursue provisional and full licensure in their discipline)
- Fully Licensed clinicians preferred (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT,)
- Experience with outpatient counseling and/or therapy.
- Positive attitude and willingness to engage with YFC's mission.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
