Job Description

The Math remediation teacher's main duty will be to work very closely with the principal, assistant principal, and middle school math teacher to assess the students' levels of functionality in math. This specialist will provide remediation to middle school students (grades 6-8) who are struggling in that area. The teacher is expected to work one-on-one and/or with small groups as designated by homeroom teachers in areas where students may be struggling and/or need reteaching.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in Mathematics.
• Knowledge and proven skills in delivery of instructional material
• Knowledge of office procedures and equipment such as computer software (e.g., Word for Windows; Excel spreadsheets, grade systems, (or system as appropriate), telephone techniques, and English usage (spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

The remediation teacher will be expected to work cooperatively with the middle school homeroom teacher and administration. The teacher will maintain appropriate records as needed. Remediation teacher will maintain open communication with homeroom teacher and administration to provide appropriate academic instruction to students.
