Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, restaurants, and other accounts within the assigned territory. 

- Actively pitch and promote the company’s wine portfolio, ensuring placement in key accounts. 

- Achieve and exceed sales targets and quotas. 

- Conduct tastings, events, and promotional activities to educate customers and drive brand awareness. 

- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer preferences to inform sales strategies. 

- Work closely with the distributor's sales team to develop joint strategies and initiatives to increase sales and market penetration. 

- Provide feedback to the marketing team on customer needs, product performance, and opportunities for growth. 

- Ensure timely order placement, delivery coordination, and resolution of customer concerns. 

Skills Needed:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships. 

- Sales-oriented mindset with excellent negotiation and closing skills. 

- Knowledge of wine varieties, regions, and production processes (wine certifications like WSET are a plus). 

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively. 

- Analytical skills to monitor sales performance and market trends. 

- Proficiency in using CRM software and business tools like Excel and PowerPoint. 

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams (including distributors). 

Experience Required:

- At least 2-3 years of sales experience in the wine, spirits, or beverage industry (preferred). 

- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas. 

- Experience working with distributors or as part of a distributor's team is a strong advantage. 

- Familiarity with the assigned territory and its wine market dynamics. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required). 

- Wine certifications (WSET Level 2 or higher, CMS, etc.) are a bonus.
